MOORHEAD, Minn. The Rev. Ralph Oakland served congregations in Outlook and Wolf Point, Mont.; Sturgis, and Rapid City, S.D., and as chaplain at a military base; Wanamingo, Climax and Moorhead. The Rev. Mr. Oakland, 75, died Friday in a Fargo, N.D., hospitaL Born in Randall, Iowa, a son of Bertine and Peter Oakland, he graduated from St. Olaf College and taught school for two years before entering the Lutheran Seminary in St. Paul. He married Jeannette Tande in 1940 in Scobey. Survivors include his wife; four daughters; a brother; three sisters; and 13 grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Scobey, Mont., Lutheran Church with burial in Scobey Cemetery. Waller Funeral Home is in charge.

Survived by children, Rachael (Lowell) Disrud, Charlotte (Tom) Wee, Joanna (Mick) Rindt, Julie (Ralph) Tellefsen; 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren. Funeral service 11AM Friday, March 11, visitation at 10AM; North Heights Lutheran, 1700 Hwy 96 Arden Hills. Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers.
